The Tagalog (Filipino) Language
Its 50 million speakers make Tagalog the most popular of the major languages of the Republic of the Philippines. It also serves as a base for Filipino, one of the two Philippine official languages. It is closely related to Malaysian languages, but has incorporated many Spanish words.
